-New 250cc street naked by Hero may be called Xtreme 250R
-Gets LED lights, USD fork and more
-Powered by a 250cc, liquid-cooled engine
Hero MotoCorp is readying to make a splash at the EICMA 2024 and one of the big reveals will be their new 250cc bike. The teaser of the motorcycle has been released on social media platforms and reveals few yet interesting details.
The design of the new Hero 250cc bike is inspired by the Hero 2.5 Xtunt concept that was showcased last year at the EICMA. It showed Hero’s new, more aggressive design language and the teaser as well as the patent image we’d reported about shows the inspiration.
There’s an angular headlamp cowl that houses an LED headlight with an inset, H-shaped LED DRL. The fuel tank is muscular and adds visual mass to the design while the radiator shroud has been neatly executed. In comparison to the front end, the side and tail sections are sleeker. The bike seen in the images has a mix of red and silver colours on the bodywork, indicating that the bike will have a dual-tone colour option.
The bike will be powered by a new, 250cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder engine. While exact specifications will be revealed soon, expect the power and torque figures to be in the vicinity of 28bhp-30bhp and 24Nm-25Nm respectively. These figures are roughly the same as its chief competition, the KTM 250 Duke and the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250.
As for the chassis, expect to see a frame that is suspended by a USD fork and a monoshock. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels while braking duties are taken care of by a single disc at the front and rear.
Hero is also likely to equip the bike with a decent set of features. The list includes all LED lights and a digital display with Bluetooth connectivity. This may be a TFT unit, just like in the case of the new Hero XPulse 210 which will get one.
The bike is likely to be called the Hero Xtreme 250R and should go on sale in India in early 2025. Priced should hover around the Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.2 lakh, ex-showroom mark.
