-Celebrates Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal’s 101st birth anniversary
-Limited to 100 units
The Hero Centennial is a special edition motorcycle based on the Karizma XMR and was up for grabs earlier this year. Hero MotoCorp had announced that the Centennial commemorates the 101st birth anniversary of Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal.
The bike was to be sold via auction to Hero Hero’s employees, associates, business partners, and stakeholders. This auction has generated a whopping Rs 8.6 crore which will be allotted for charitable initiatives.
The Hero Centennial is limited to 100 units only. 75 units underwent the auction and managed to raise the amount mentioned above. The highest bid was Rs 20.30 lakh for the Centennial number CE100. This also makes it the most expensive Hero motorcycle to have been sold.
For the remaining 25 units, Hero has stated that they will be given to employees and customers through contests.
The Hero Centennial shares its engine and chassis with the Hero Karizma. But that’s where the similarities end. The Centennial has some top-shelf components such as carbon fibre body panels and an Akrapovic exhaust. It also has a hydroformed tube handlebar, a milled aluminium swingarm, 43mm upside-down forks with compression and rebound adjustability and a fully-adjustable, gas-charged, monoshock from Wilbers.
