The Hero Centennial has finally made its official debut. However, this is a rather special bike and pays homage to Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal on his 101st birth anniversary. So, here are five of its top highlights.
New Design
Although based on the new Hero Karizma, the Centennial takes a different and aggressive design approach. It looks sportier, more enticing, and sharper than the current Karizma. The Centennial comes draped in three colours – red, grey, and black. The chassis and select areas of the engine casing coloured in red are quite eye-catching.
Swanky Hardware
Hero has equipped its special edition bike with carbon fibre parts, an Akrapovic exhaust, a hydroformed tube handlebar, a milled aluminium swingarm, and 43mm upside-down forks with compression and rebound adjustability and a fully-adjustable, gas-charged, monoshock from Wilbers.
Limited Edition
Hero will only make 100 units of the Centennial. It will be made available via auction to Hero’s employees, associates, business partners, and stakeholders.
Shared Engine
Powering the Hero Centennial is a 210cc, liquid-cooled engine. It is the same motor that the Karizma uses but the Centennial gets an Akrapovic exhaust too. Then, the bike also weighs 158kg which is 5.5kg less than the bike it is based on. So, we expect better performance since the power-to-weight ratio would be different on the Centennial.
Availability
Deliveries for the Hero Centennial will commence in September 2024. This is a proper special and limited-edition bike so you can expect to see it on the road very rarely.
