Hero MotoCorp’s new scooter has been named the Maestro Edge. This scooter was previously known as the Dash when it was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo.
This development was confirmed when a production ready scooter was spied inside a dealership. While this scooter looks exactly like the Dash, it gets the new Maestro Edge badging. This has been done to cash in on the Maestro branding that has seen a good number of fans over the last couple of months, thanks to the promotion done by Ranbir Kapoor.
The Maestro Edge gets a handle-mounted head lamp, LED tail lamps and side indicators. The scooter looks promising enough to attract male buyers and comes with many new features now available in the current Hero line-up. These include a service due indicator, USB mobile charger and a 6-litre fuel tank that gets an external fuel-filler cap, just like the TVS Jupiter.
The Maestro Edge will be powered by the same single-cylinder, air-cooled, 110cc engine but with a slightly uprated power output. The motor now produces 8.4bhp of power and 9.4Nm of torque and comes mated to an automatic transmission.
We are expecting the Maestro Edge to be sold in a wide range of new colours to attract young buyers. The Gurgaon-based manufacturer will launch the scooter this festive season with a price tag ranging between Rs 49,000 and Rs 56,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
