Several spy shots of Hero’s upcoming scooter – the Dash, have been circulating on the internet. These spy shots show the 110cc scooter in its production-ready avatar, indicating that its launch is just around the corner.
The Dash is powered by a completely new 111cc single-cylinder engine, which delivers 8.4bhp and 9.4Nm of torque through a CVT gearbox. The Dash comes with an analogue speedometer which integrates an LCD display, a storage compartment at the front and Integrated Braking System (IBS). The Dash will be available in two variants – VX and LX. While the former will be the base variant, the LX will also get alloy wheels and a USB charging port among the other features.
Earlier reports had suggested that Hero has already started manufacturing the first batch of the Dash at its factory in Delhi, by temporarily suspending the production of the Maestro. As the Maestro is a Honda product, Hero has to pay royalty to the Japanese manufacturer for every scooter it sells though Hero MotoCorp will eventually phase out the Maestro. The Dash will compete with other 110cc scooters like the Honda Activa 3G, Suzuki Lets, TVS Jupiter and the Yamaha Alpha.
