Hero MotoCorp seems to be wrapping up the trials of the upcoming Dash scooter and preparing to launch the scooter by mid 2015. The scooter was spied testing at the start of this month as well and does look production ready hinting that it might be launched soon.
The Dash was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo but the company didn't put it on sale in 2014 as they had announced earlier. It features the handle-mounted head lamp, LED tail lamps and side indicators. The scooter looks promising enough to attract male buyers and comes with many new features now available in the current Hero line-up. These include a service due indicator, USB mobile charger and a 6-litre fuel tank that gets a fuel-filler cap above the tail lamp for added convenience.
The Dash will be powered by the same single-cylinder, air-cooled, 110cc engine but with a slightly up-rated power output. The motor now produces 8.4bhp of power and 9.4Nm of torque and comes mated to the automatic transmission.
The scooter segment has been garnering a lot of sales for the Indian two-wheeler market and Hero aims to offer a new product for the choice of the Indian consumers. The Dash will target the audience that chooses to opt for scooters such as the Honda Activa 110, Yamaha Ray and the TVS Jupiter. We can expect it to be priced between Rs 53,000 and Rs 57,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), slotting it above the Maestro.
