Hero MotoCorp recently inaugurated its first manufacturing facility outside of India, in Villa Rica, Colombia. This event also served as a platform for the Gurgaon-based manufacturer to unveil their new 110cc scooter - the Dash.
First unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi, the Dash is a unisex scooter based on the Maestro’s platform. Powering the Dash is an air-cooled 110cc four-stroke engine that produces 8.5bhp and a peak torque of 8.5Nm. It will be lavishly equipped with premium features like LED tail lamp, side stand indicator, USB mobile charger and a service due indicator among others. While the overall shape is similar to the Maestro, the body panels have been redesigned to give the scooter a fresh new look. It also gets new alloy wheels and telescopic front suspension.
Recent reports and spy shots indicate that the Hero Dash will be called as Maestro Edge in the Indian market. This means that the ‘Dash’ moniker would be used only for its other global markets. The Maestro Edge is expected to be launched in India before the end of this month, ahead of the looming festive season. It will rival other 110cc scooters like the Honda Activa 3G, Yamaha Cygnus Alpha and TVS Wego.
