- Hero Destini 125 BS6 becomes slightly dearer
- Demands a premium of Rs 500 now
- Prices start at Rs 65,810 (ex-showroom, Delhi)
Hero MotoCorp has marginally hiked the prices of its 125cc family scooter, the Destini 125 BS6, in India. It demands a premium of Rs 500 over the previous pricing and now costs Rs 65,810 (steel wheels) and Rs 68,600 (alloy wheels) (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). It’s worth noting that despite the price hike, the Destini 125 BS6 continues to be the most affordable 125cc scooter available in India.
The BS6-compliant version of the Destini 125 was launched in February 2020 and even then, it had received a small price hike over its BS4 iteration. The updates it has received include LED position lamps, a new matte grey silver colour option and a different logo. Rest of the features include a conventional headlamp and tail lamp and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
Powering the new BS6 model of the Destini is a 125cc, air-cooled motor with Hero’s programmed fuel injection system. It is claimed to have improved the mileage by 11 per cent and acceleration by 10 per cent over the BS4 mill. The scooter churns out 9bhp at 7,000rpm and 10.4Nm at 5,500rpm which is a bump of 0.3bhp and 0.2Nm. The hardware package is pretty basic comprising of 10-inch wheels, telescopic forks, a monoshock and a drum brake at both ends.
The Hero Destini 125 BS6 competes against the Honda Activa 125 FI and the Suzuki Access 125.
