The Hero Destini 125 is the company’s fresh entrant in the burgeoning 125cc scooter space. It features a brand new design, more features than the previous Destini and other changes. We tested the scooter in Goa and you can read the full review here. Meanwhile, this is a short summary of the review in images.
The design of the new Hero Destini 125 is its defining aspect. It looks fresh, contemporary and appealing. It managed to attract a lot of attention and it is not difficult to understand why.
The shape of the front apron with its creases, the H-shaped LED DRL or the copper-chrome inserts on the apron, mirrors and side panels help exude premium air. The quality of the paint and switches also feels like a step up from Hero scooters in the past.
The top-end variant comes with a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. It also gets auto cancel turn indicators, a start switch with a backlight, a USB charger and a boot lamp.
Hero has done a good job setting the ergonomics of the Destini 125. The seat is long and has plenty of space for two adults, while the handlebar is set at a height with enough clearance to ensure that the legs don’t foul with it while turning.
Powering the Destini is a 125cc single-cylinder motor that makes 9bhp and 10.4Nm of peak torque. We found it to be very refined and even the performance is decent. The scooter accelerates off the line quickly but it is not peppy. It is best around 50-60kmph and can also manage 80kmph.
The ride quality of the scooter is good as well. It is not very plush though. The handling is also predictable and easy to ride. The brakes work fairly well with progressive bite.
We feel the Destini 125 ticks all the right boxes, especially with the new design and features. The improved engine refinement is another good aspect about the scooter. In all, it is worth taking a look at during this festive season.
