Hero MotoCorp has finally ventured into the world of 125cc scooters with the Destini 125, which was previously called the Duet 125. This scooter is being positioned as an entry-level 125cc scooter, and will target buyers who want to upgrade from their 110cc scooters. While there are many 125cc scooters in the market, we list down the two scooters that pose as the biggest threat to the Destini 125. These are the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access 125.
The Suzuki Access 125 is in its second generation now. It is known for its value-for-money proposition. But it loses a lot of points in the styling section, as the design is too sober and doesn’t beg for attention. But its powertrain is an impressive one. The 125cc engine churns out 8.6bhp and 10.2Nm. It gets Suzuki’s easy start system, one push central lock system, provision to charge phone and also alloy-wheels option. The drum version of the Access 125 retails at Rs 70,350, whereas the disc variant is priced at Rs 74,350. There’s also a CBS version but that is priced at Rs 77,306. All prices are on-road Mumbai.
The Honda Activa 125 has been in the market for many years, but it didn’t manage to create a storm like its 110cc siblings did. But with its chrome front and good amount of features, the Activa 125 makes for a decent scooter. It’s powered by a 125cc single cylinder engine that produces 8.52bhp and 10.54Nm of peak torque. It gets LED headlamp, digital instrument cluster and mobile charging socket. The drum-spoke wheels variant retails at Rs 75,140, whereas the alloy wheels version is priced at Rs 77,306. There’s a DLX variant as well which is priced at Rs 80,047.
