Hero MotoCorp has launched the Duet scooter for the Indian market at Rs 48,400 (ex-showroom Bangalore) for the LX version. The VX version with additional features will retail for Rs 49,900 (ex-showroom Bangalore).
The Duet gets a metal body and the overall design language is quite attractive. The scooter gets a 3D emblem and chrome stripe on the side to give it a premium look. It gets an external fuel filler, making it easy to visit the petrol station. The Duet sports a wide rear seat and front luggage hook along with a retractable luggage hook. For convenience, the Duet gets a boot light, mobile charging port, under seat compartment and a twin helmet holder.
The Hero Duet is powered by the new 111cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. This engine produces 8bhp at 8000rpm and 8Nm at 6500rpm of peak torque that transfers power to the rear wheel via a CVT transmission.
The Duet is available in panther black metallic, nature green metallic, matt vernier grey, grace grey metallic, candy blazing red and pearl silver white. Bookings for the scooter have already begun with delivery promised on the spot. The Duet will compete with the Honda Activa i and if the price point is considered, this new Hero scooter also competes with the TVS Scooty Zest.
