- Hero Optima, NX rolls out from Mahindra plant
- Both companies will jointly develop a supply chain
- Mahindra exited two-wheeler space years ago
Hero Electric has rolled out its first batch of some electric scooters from Mahindra’s Pithampur plant. Both the companies joined hands to manufacture and co-develop EVs a few months ago.
As part of this new plan, Hero Electric will use Mahindra’s facility in Pithampur and manufacture new electric scooters. As of now, the Optima and NX e-scooters are being manufactured in that plant. This facility has the option to manufacture more brands and we can expect the same to happen in the coming months.
Hero Electric and Mahindra also plan to use the same supply chain for their future products. Interestingly, Mahindra doesn’t have any two-wheeler presence in the country anymore. But we can expect the brand to do something for Jawa and Yezdi brands in the future.
