Hero Electric has teased a new electric scooter ahead of its debut at the Auto Expo 2018. Internally called AXHLE-20, this will be a high-performance scooter with a claimed top speed of 85kmph.
While there is no shortage of electric scooters in the Indian market, even the sportiest of these can’t be ridden at over 45kmph. As such, the AXLHE-20 should be quite a revelation. It is powered by a 4000 watt lithium ion battery, with a maximum range of 110 kilometres. The AXLHE-20 also uses regenerative braking to help it achieve this range. Besides, the battery can charge to its full capacity in just four hours.
Apart from the AXLHE-20, Hero Electric will also be unveiling two e-bicycles at the Auto Expo. Developed by a UK-based firm called A2B, these foldable e-bicycles are the first of their kind to be launched in India. While the Indian consumers haven’t yet opened up completely towards the idea of electric mobility, Hero Electric is optimistic about doubling its sales every year over the next five years. These new products are a part of its strategy to improve electric two-wheelers’ penetration in the Indian market.
