Hero MotoCorp has decided to increase the price of its motorcycles and scooters from 1 January 2020. The company has decided to hike the priced by up to Rs 2000 across its entire range. However, the exact quantum of the hike will depend on the model and the specific market. So the prospective customers of the Glamour 125, Passion Pro and the Super Splendor will be affected.
The hike will also affect its first BS6 compliant motorcycle, the Splendor iSmart. We are expecting the highest price increase will affect the Xpulse and the Xtreme range as these are premium products and a hike of Rs 2000 doesn’t really affect the buying decisions of these buyers.
The Gurgaon-based manufacturer hasn’t disclosed the reason for this bike, but we think it is a way to discourage people who are waiting for the new year model. We should expect some discount offers to be announced in the next few days, and this will happen across the industry.
