A batch of spy shots of the Hero MotoCorp HF Dawn facelift and Dash scooter undergoing trials, with heavy camouflage, have gone viral over the Internet. While it is no secret that Hero MotoCorp is aiming to revamp its entire line-up, these photographs confirm the company’s plans of introducing new products in the rapidly growing commuter and scooter segments.
Cosmetically, the new HF Dawn will get a black scheme for the chain cover and rear shocks and a new seat with improved cushioning. Mechanically, the new Hero HF Dawn isn’t expected to be any different from the current model. It will continue to be powered by a 97.2cc single-cylinder engine which delivers 8.2bhp and 8.05Nm of torque through a four-speed gearbox. We can also expect a host of new paint schemes with new decals for the commuter.
The Dash on the other hand, will be a completely new scooter. First showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, the Dash is mechanically identical to the Maestro and will be powered by the same 110cc engine. The air-cooled single-cylinder engine delivers 8.4bhp and 9.4Nm of torque through a CVT gearbox. It will be positioned above the Maestro in the popular 110cc scooter segment and will rival the likes of Honda Activa and the TVS Wego.
