The Hero World 2024 event had a lot of exotic and futuristic offerings on display. But the one that truly fascinated us was the Collector’s Edition (CE) of the Karizma, created in memory of Dr Brijmohan Lall Munjal, the founder of Hero. While it shares its platform with the Karizma XMR production model, a lot of changes have been executed on the CE version while incorporating some outlandish elements. Let’s shed some light on these changes.
The design of the Karizma CE is inspired by the first-ever OG Karizma R. Hence, it boasts a semi-faired styling but the front panels look profoundly flamboyant with multiple layers and deep cuts and creases.
It’s not just different visually but the material used for some of its body panels is carbon-fibre, something that’s uncommon in small bikes.
The pillion seat is replaced with a cowl along with a butt-stopper of sorts. To enhance it further visually, Hero has also finished certain components like the frame and crankcase in a metallic red shade.
Mechanical tweaks include the inclusion of USD forks in place of telescopic units while the rear monoshock is sourced from Showa. Plus, it gets a brass-coated drive chain which is usually seen in bigger bikes.
The clip-on handlebar is replaced with a stunt bike-like tubular handlebar while the exhaust canister has been sourced from Akrapovic.
Powering the Karizma CE is the same motor that does duty on the XMR. This 210cc, liquid-cooled engine produces 25.15bhp and 20.4Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch.
The Hero Karizma CE will be limited to just 100 units and each unit will sport its production number on an aluminium plaque placed on the side.
