We recently came across the patent drawings of a bigger Hero Karizma, likely the XMR 250 that’s been circling on the rumour mills lately. We list out what can be expected from the motorcycle.
Aggressive styling
The current Hero Karizma XMR 210 is a good-looking motorcycle. From the styling of the fairing to the upswept tail section, Hero came up with a sporty and modern design. The Hero Karizma XMR 250, going by the patent image, follows in the same vein. Albeit with more aggressive lines all around. It also seems to have aerodynamic winglets which seems to be the flavour on every supersport these days.
The new TVS Apache RR 310, for instance, is the recipient of winglets as well. The fuel tank also appears to be new while the side and tail sections are integrated seamlessly. Expect the new Hero Karizma XMR 250 to look sporty and attractive. We can also expect to see new colours.
Bigger, more powerful engine
As the name suggests, the new Karizma XMR 250 will feature a bigger engine. It should most likely be a 250cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine while the power and torque figures will be higher than that of the current Karizma. The engine will be paired with a six-speed gearbox.
Chassis tweaks
There are major changes to the chassis as well. While the frame, in all likelihood is the same as the current Karizma, the XMR 250 should get a USD fork instead of a telescopic fork as seen on the Karizma XMR 210. The monoshock, however, could be the same. One can also spot a larger front disc and it seems to be a 320mm unit whereas the current Karizma has a 300mm disc.
Pricing
The Hero Karizma XMR 210 is priced at Rs 1.80 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Expect the Karizma XMR 250 to cost between Rs 2 lakh to 2.10 lakh. Hero is expected to launch the bike in a few months.
