The latest offering from Hero MotoCorp, the Karizma XMR, has made its debut in India. It carries the iconic Karizma brand name that was launched almost 20 years ago and embodies the same sporty spirit as well. Let's take a close look at what the new Hero motorcycle has to offer.
On the design front, the new Karizma XMR gets a cutting-edge design. Its sharp body panels with all the cuts and creases give the Karizma a fresh appearance and also make it look enticing. The bike features tall clip-on handles, split-seat, and a two-piece grab-rail as well. The fuel tank protrudes on the edges and contributes to the bike’s proportions in a healthy manner.
The Karizma XMR’s fascia seems distinct and houses a set of projector LED lights with LED DRLs on the sides. It's topped by an adjustable windscreen as well.
Hero has offered a decent list of features with the new Karizma XMR. It gets LED illumination, fully digital LCD, and smartphone connectivity. The latter offers call and SMS notifications, turn-by-turn navigation, and a fast-charging USB port as well.
The Karizma XMR derives power from a 210cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled four-valve motor. It makes 25.15bhp at 9,250rpm and 20.4Nm at 7,250rpm. The motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and benefits from a slip-and-assist clutch.
Hero has used a new steel trellis frame for the Karizma XMR and suspended it on telescopic front forks and a monoshock. Meanwhile, the braking hardware includes 300mm front petal and 230mm rear discs with dual-channel ABS.
The new Karizma XMR rides on 17-inch alloys wrapped in 100/80 front and 140/70 rear tyres. It has an 11-litre fuel tank.
With its entry into the Indian market, the new Hero Karizma XMR will lock horns against the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, Yamaha R15 V4, and the Bajaj Pulsar RS200.
