Hero MotoCorp has reincarnated the Karizma brand with the launch of its new XMR iteration. The motorcycle has been built from the ground up to compete in the popular small-size sportbike segment. Has Hero done a good job with it? Read our first ride review to find out. As of now, let’s check out the pictures of the Hero Karizma XMR from our review.
The new version of the Karizma is a handsome-looking motorcycle that boasts a sporty and aggressive bodywork without being too radical.
The low-slung front fascia houses a horizontally-placed, sleek LED headlamp that is crowned by a manually adjustable windscreen. One can marginally adjust the height of this visor through a button on the right side fairing.
The muscular fuel tank and the upswept tail section blend nicely with the split-type seat and clip-on handlebar to lend it a quintessential sportbike stance.
The new Karizma is decently loaded on the feature front with a Bluetooth-enabled LCD console, full-LED lighting, a USB charging port, an assist and slipper clutch, and dual-channel ABS.
With a kerb weight of 163kg and a seat height of 810mm, it should be an accessible daily commuter for riders of all kinds of build and height.
Powering the motorcycle is the new 210cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 25.2bhp and 20.4Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Underpinned by a steel trellis frame, it rides on 17-inch wheels that are suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock while braking is handled by a single disc at both ends.
With an introductory price tag of Rs 1.72 lakh (ex-showroom), the Hero Karizma XMR is more attractively priced than its closest rivals including the Yamaha R15 V4, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, and the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200.
