Hero MotoCorp debuted the Karizma XMR a few days ago and since then it has seemingly created a lot of hype in the Indian two-wheeler market. We even rode it on the same day, and here’s our first ride review of the Hero Karizma XMR. Now, let’s take a look at its top highlights.
What are the design cues of the new Hero Karizma XMR?
The Karizma XMR has brought a new and fresh design language for Hero MotorCorp. It exudes a sporty character and looks practical too. The fascia appears sharp and comprises a wide LED headlight with a couple of LED projectors in the centre. It’s topped by an adjustable windscreen with the lock located above the right-side body panel.
Hero has equipped the Karizma XMR with a split seat and a two-piece rear grab-rail. Then, there is the fuel tank protruding outside on the edges, making it appear wider than it is. Overall, it’s fair to say that the new Karizma is one of the swankiest-looking bikes in the current Hero portfolio.
What features has Hero offered on the latest generation of the Karizma?
Along with LED illumination, Hero has also equipped the Karizma XMR with a fully digital instrument console as well. It packs all the necessary readouts like the speedometer, trip meter, odometer, tachometer, gear position indicator, temperature, and a clock. But, it also gets Bluetooth connectivity that allows you to pair your smartphone with the cluster and get access to turn-by-turn navigation. Apart from that, there’s dual-channel ABS as the safety net.
What are the engine specifications of the new Karizma XMR?
Powering the Karizma XMR is a new 210cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled four-valve mill. It produces 25.15bhp at 9,250rpm and 20.4Nm at 7,250rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox and benefits from a slip-and-assist clutch. From our first stint with the bike, we can tell that it packs good low-end grunt and the mid-range is just as strong.
What’s the hardware like on the Hero Karizma?
The Karizma rides on telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. Its braking hardware comprises a 300mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc with ABS. These are mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in 100/80 front and 140/70 rear tyres. That said, the brakes are a little on the softer side and could do with better stopping power.
How many variants of the Karizma XMR does Hero offer and what is its asking price?
Hero offers the new Karizma XMR in a single trim and three paint schemes – Iconic Yellow, Turbo Red, and Phantom Matte Black. The asking price is set at Rs. 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) as an introductory offer.
