The new 2014 Hero Karizma ZMR has been revealed through a picture of Pawan Munjal (MD & CEO Hero Motor Corp) sitting on the new bike in a Telgu newspaper. We are not sure if this was an intentional move, but with close-up photograph of the bike courtesy PowerDrift, we have a decent insight on the bike's styling.
The new design, despite its sharp lines, reminds us of the original Karizma. It has a tall stance and looks striking with the twin headlamp setup and redesiged front fairing reminding us of yesteryear sport bikes. The new ZMR also gets a superbike-like independent number plate console, but the overall appearance of the bike is slightly unconventional.
The new Karizma ZMR is expected to be powered by the same engine, but the performance should hopefully improve with inputs from EBR Eric (Buell Racing). We expect the power figures to be in the early 20s at the least for it to compete with the likes of the Pulsar 220, KTM Duke 200 and the CBR 250R.
Pawan Munjal was heard saying that along with the new ZMR, Hero will launch more products on similar lines including the new Karizma. As for this bike, expect the launch in next few days the before the start of festive season.
