Strengthening its two-wheeler portfolio in the country, Hero MotoCorp has launched two new scooters, the new Maestro Edge 125 and the new Pleasure Plus 110. The Maestro Edge 125 has been introducted in three varaints while prices starting at Rs 58,500 for the carb drum variant, Rs 60,000 for the carb disc variant and Rs 62,700 for the top-spec Fi disc variant. The new Pleasure Plus 110 is offered in two variants, with pricing starting at Rs 47,300 for the steel wheel variant and Rs 49,300 for the alloy wheel variant. (All prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The Maestro Edge 125 is a more powerful and higher spec version of the standard Maestro Edge that’s already on sale in the market. Unveiled during the 2018 Auto Expo, the Maestro Edge 125 closely follows the same design as its 110cc sibling. The scooter is available in two variants, carb and fuel-injected (first scooter in the country). In addition to that, it comes with new features like a semi-digital instrument console with service indicator, textured seat and a signature LED lamp on the front apron giving it a premium look.

Powering the Maestro Edge 125 is a 124cc air-cooled single-cylinder motor that has been lifted from the Destini 125. The fuel-injected version is rated to produce 9.1bhp and 10.2Nm while the carb variant is tuned to produce 8.7bhp and 10.2Nm. Transmission duties are taken care of by a variomatic gearbox. It also features Hero’s patented i3S technology (only for carb variant) that switches the engine off after idling for a while and starts upon twisting the throttle. For cycle parts, the Maestro Edge 125 sports telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. For braking, unlike the standard Maestro which gets only drum brakes, the Maestro Edge 125 features a disc brake with a single-piston caliper and a drum brake at the rear. The system is equipped with Integrated Brake System (IBS). Hero is offering the Maestro Edge 125 with the choice of six colour shades. The carb variant is available in four options blue, brown, grey and red. The Fi variant gets two colour options white and black.

Next is the Pleasure Plus 110 scooter, which was long due for a thorough update. The design of the exterior, despite undergoing a makeover, retains the essence of the old Pleasure, Thus, the updated scooter looks more contemporary and with smoothly contoured lines. In order to stay updated with the competition, the scooter now features a modern instrument console, an open glove box behind the front apron, longer seat, side stand indicator and larger boot space with boot light.

In the case of motive power, the Pleasure Plus 110 is now powered by a 110.9cc single-cylinder motor that has been borrowed from the Duet. The engine is capable of producing 8bhp of max power and 8.7Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a variomatic gearbox. Damping duties are handled by bottom link-type units up front and a monoshock at the rear. For braking, the scooter is equipped with 130mm drum brakes at both ends equipped with IBS. The Pleasure Plus 110 is available in seven colour options consisting of green, matte red, solid red, blue, grey, black and white.

Bookings for the Maestro Edge 125 will begin on 16 May followed by deliveries from the first week of June. For the new Pleasure Plus 110, deliveries of the scooter are expected to begin by the end of June.
