Brochures of the Hero Maestro Edge and the Duet have been leaked ahead of their launch this month. These brochures have revealed all the crucial technical specifications and details about the scooters.
Both the Maestro Edge and Duet will be offered in two versions – LX and VX. The feature list includes a mobile charging point, under seat storage lamp, tubeless tyres and an integrated braking system. The instrument cluster integrates a digital display and a service reminder. The Maestro Edge rides on 12-inch alloy wheels, though disc brakes will not be available, even as an optional extra. The Duet gets the run of the mill steel wheels.
Though it retains the ‘Maestro’ moniker, the Maestro Edge is based on a completely new platform. Both the Maestro Edge and the Duet are powered by an 111cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine delivers 8bhp and 8Nm of torque through a CVT transmission. Both the scooters get telescopic suspension at the front which should greatly aid the scooters’ riding dynamics.
The Maestro Edge will be available in seven paint schemes while the Duet will be offered in six shades. The Maestro Edge will be positioned in the most popular scooter segment against the likes of the Honda Activa 3G and the TVS Jupiter. The Duet on the other hand, will be competing with the Honda Activa-i, TVS Scooty Zest and the Mahindra Gusto.
