Hero MotoCorp recently launched the Mavrick 440, its most powerful and most expensive motorcycle ever. With prices starting at Rs 1.99 lakh, however, it is also the most affordable 400cc-class motorcycle available in the market. While bookings for the Mavrick 440 have begun, we’ve learnt that deliveries will commence from 15 April 2024.
The Hero Mavrick 440 marks the company’s entry in the premium, 400-500cc segment and our first ride review of the bike left us pretty impressed. While design is always subjective, the bike’s engine, ride and handling is what stood out.
To recap, the Hero Mavrick 440 is powered by a 440cc, air and oil-cooled engine that makes 27bhp at 6,000rpm and 36Nm at 4,000rpm. It is paired with a six-speed transmission. This is the same engine that powers the Harley-Davidson X440, albeit with a lower peak torque output.
The Mavrick 440 utilises a steel trellis frame with a telescopic fork and dual shock absorber setup. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends.
Hero has launched the bike in three variants with the top-spec motorcycle featuring a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.
In terms of competition, the Mavrick 440 goes up against the Triumph Speed 400 and the Harley-Davidson X440.
