Hero MotoCorp has launched its most powerful motorcycle in India, the Mavrick 440. The Jaipur-based brand is offering the Mavrick in three different trims and the bookings for it have also commenced. Here is what we know about it.
The Hero Mavrick 440 and the Harley-Davidson X440 share the same platform. Which means the Hero is offering a lot of features and an entrancing design. However, unlike its American counterpart, the Mavrick appears more like a roadster than a cruiser. Hero is offering the bike in five different colours – Arctic White, Fearless Red, Celestial Blue, Phantom Black, and Enigma Black. The last two colours are exclusive to the top variant.
Powering the new Hero Mavrick is a 440cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine that makes 27bhp and a peak torque of 36Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox and the unit is nestled in a trellis frame. The Mavrick 440's suspension setup consists of telescopic forks and twin shock absorbers unlike the X440’s USD fork and twin shock setup. It gets a 320mm front and a 240mm rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS. The braking hardware is mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tyres. The base model rides on spoke wheels while the mid and top spec trims get alloy wheels.
On the features front, the Hero Mavrick 440 comes equipped with LED illumination, a fully digital console with smartphone connectivity for navigation along with SMS and call alerts. Bluetooth connectivity is reserved for the top variant. It also gets a Type C charging port for added convenience.
Hero has priced the Mavrick 440 at Rs. 1,99,000 for the Base model, Rs. 2,14,000 for the Mid and Rs. 2,24,000 for the Top trim (all ex-showroom, pan India). For reference, the Harley Davidson X440’s price starts at Rs. 2,39,500 for the base variant.
