- Teaser image shows the silhouette of its front fascia
- To be based on the same platform as the Harley-Davidson X440
- Official launch to take place on 23 January 2024
Hero MotoCorp’s upcoming flagship offering, the Mavrick 440, has lately been the hot topic in the Indian biking fraternity. The motorcycle has been spied on multiple times until now, giving rise to many speculations and anticipation. Now, as we are inching closer to its launch, the company has released the first-ever official teaser of this roadster, giving away the silhouette and thereby a glimpse of its design.
One of the teaser images featuring the front fascia of the Mavrick shows its round LED headlamp, a pair of petite DRLs, an offset circular instrument cluster, a single-piece tubular handlebar, and telescopic forks. Accompanying this image is another teaser showing the top view of the bike revealing the muscular fuel tank, sharp tank extensions stretching up to the front forks, a single-piece seat, and a sizeable pillion grab rail.
Other details we have observed in the spy shots of the Mavrick include LED turn indicators, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and an exhaust system that is different from the motorcycle it is based on, the Harley-Davidson X440. While the Mavrick will be powered by the same 440cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine, the tuning might be different in this case. In the X440, this unit churns out 27bhp and 38Nm while being mated to a five-speed gearbox. It might also get a bunch of modern features like smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and a USB charging port.
The new Hero Mavrick is scheduled to be launched in India on 23 January 2024 with an expected price of under Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete against the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Triumph Speed 400.
