- The Mavrick is Hero’s most premium offering so far
- Likely to be priced under Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Rivals the Royal Enfield Classic 350
Hero MotoCorp’s most premium offering so far, the Mavrick, is scheduled to be launched in India tomorrow, 23 January 2024. It will be based on the same platform as the Harley-Davidson X440 but there will be a host of new elements to give it a personality of its own.
Going by the teaser images, the Mavrick boasts a muscular roadster design with a brawny-looking bodywork. The front section is occupied by a round headlamp with twin petite DRls along with a round offset instrument cluster and a flat, tubular-style handlebar. The curvy fuel tank is accompanied by sharp extensions while a stubby tail accommodates a scooped-out, single-piece seat. This design will be complemented by modern features as teasers have given away the presence of full-LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled LCD screen.
Propelling the Mavrick will be the same 440cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that does duty on the X440. However, there might be subtle changes to alter the feel and performance numbers which stand at 27bhp and 38Nm for the latter. As shown in teasers, the bike rides on diamond-cut alloy wheels that are suspended telescopic forks and dual springs while braking is handled by a single disc at both ends. A dual-channel ABS setup should be standard.
The Hero Mavrick is likely to be priced under Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete against the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Harley-Davidson X440, Jawa 350, and the Honda CB350.
