- Prices increased by up to Rs 500
- Step taken to offset rising input costs
- Price hike effective immediately
Hero MotoCorp has increased the prices of its two-wheelers. While the exact hike in price varies from model to model, the average increase in the ex-showroom price will be around Rs 500.
The hike in prices has been attributed to the increase in input costs, prices of commodities and currency depreciation. This is Hero’s second price hike this year. The Gurgaon-based manufacturer had previously hiked prices in January 2018, by around Rs 400. Nevertheless, the increase in prices is less than one per cent of the cost of vehicles.
The price hike is effective immediately. With this, Hero’s motorcycle range starts at Rs 43,000 for the HF Deluxe going up to Rs 80,700 for the Xtreme Sports. The scooter range starts with the Pleasure priced at Rs 46,100 and goes up to the Maestro Edge, which retails at Rs 51,300. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
