- To counteract the increase in input and commodity costs.
- Second price hike from Hero this year.
- Increase in prices of entire model range.
Hero MotoCorp has hiked the prices of its entire line-up by up to Rs 625. The rise in price depends on the model and varies across states.
The manufacturer stated that the reason for the hike is to balance the rising price of commodities and input costs. This is the second time Hero has increased prices of its motorcycles and scooters citing rising input costs as reason this year. Hero had revised prices in January 2018, raising the prices by around Rs 400.
However, despite the hike in prices, the manufacturer registered a 20 per cent growth in March this year. The manufacturer’s range starts from the HF Dawn priced at Rs 37,400 to the Xtreme Sports which is the most expensive offering at Rs 78,226 (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
While Hero’s numbers mainly come from its 110cc commuters, it will also be focusing on launching premium products in the country this year. The Xtreme 200 is expected to arrive sometime next month followed by the Xpulse, Maestro Edge 125 and Duet 125 which it unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo.
