- Hero MotoCorp invests in Ather Energy again
- Ather plans to expand to 20 more Indian cities
Hero MotoCorp has invested Rs 84 crore Ather Energy. This is the second time the company has invested in the electric scooter startup.
Hero MotoCorp first invested in Ather in 2016 as a part of series B funding. The Bengaluru-based startup plans to use this investment to ramp up its production facilities. The company is planning to enter 20 more cities by end of 2021 with the Ather 450X.
Ather plans to open a new manufacturing plant in Hosur which will have an annual capacity of 1 lakh units. The company also plans to setup fast charging points across the country in the next five years.
