Hero MotoCorp unveiled its sports motorcycle the HX250 R today. The quarter-litre motorcycle is an all-new attempt by the company at making a lightweight sports motorcycle. The two-wheeler features an all-new liquid-cooled 250cc engine with an output of 31bhp and a six-speed transmission. It is equipped with an advanced multi-sensor fuelling system to deliver optimal fuelling.
The chassis is a geodesic tubular frame and has the engine as a stressed member. The motorcycle is fully-faired and features an aerodynamic design, with an underseat exhaust. The power is sent to the ground through 17-inch alloy-wheels with Pirelli Sport Demon tyres. The stopping force comes from a 300mm disc at front and 220mm discs at the rear. The hydraulic calipers have been designed by Brembo with combined brakes and ABS (optional).
The performance figures on paper sound good with a company claimed figure of 0-60 kmph in 2.7 secs. There are Eco and Power modes.The HX250 R looks stunning and is a big leap forward for the company. It will surely entice Indian enthusiasts looking for a 250cc motorcycle in India.
