Hero MotoCorp has silently launched the Passion PRO TR in the Indian market at Rs 53,531 (ex-showroom Mumbai). The Passion PRO TR is another iteration of the Passion PRO commuter motorcycle, which has been spiced up with an off-road theme. The extra features and accessories on the Passion PRO TR have led to the price tag escalating by almost Rs 6,000, as compared to the regular Passion PRO.
Hero had everyone pleasantly surprised when they unveiled the Passion PRO TR along with a host of other motorcycles at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The Passion PRO TR gets a distinctive off-roader look courtesy off-road tyres, a headlamp-grill, raised front mudguard, fuel tank pads, a tyre hugger and a bash plate. The bike also gets knuckle guards and restyled mirrors on the new handlebar. In keeping with the Hero MotoCorp tradition, the Passion PRO TR also gets new graphics and a slew of colour options.
The Passion PRO TR will be powered by the same engine used in the Passion PRO – a four-stroke single-cylinder 97cc engine producing 7.7bhp and 8Nm of torque. The air-cooled engine comes mated to a four-speed gearbox. Stopping power is provided by disc brake at the front and drum at the rear.
The Hero Passion PRO TR will be available in three paint schemes – black with sports red, electric blue and sports red. Hero has done a smart thing by experimenting with the Passion PRO to create a very off-beat motorcycle. While Hero did manage to grab everyone’s attention with the Passion PRO TR, it remains to be seen how the ‘off-roader’ is received by the Indian customers.
