- Xoom 160 is India’s first adventure scooter
- Powered by a new 156cc engine
- Competes with Yamaha Aerox 155
Hero MotoCorp’s most powerful motorcycle – the Mavrick will make its global debut tomorrow. Along with this bike, there’s a high chance of the brand unveiling a few more new products and the new Xoom 160 could be one of them.
The Gurgaon-based manufacturer unveiled the Xoom 160 – an adventure scooter, at the 2023 EICMA show in Milan. This new scooter is also Hero’s first attempt in the 160cc scooter segment and also in the world of adventure scooters.
From the pictures, it is clear that the Xoom 160 looks quite big and also tall. The overall design language is that of an off-road-ready maxi scooter. The scooter is equipped with an LED headlight placed between a transparent visor and a secondary beak. There is a single-piece seat and a top box mount as well. The latter is likely to be offered as an accessory.
This new Hero Xoom 160 will get its power from a 156cc single-cylinder motor. Sadly, the power figures have not been revealed yet, and this could happen tomorrow. The rest of the cycle parts are regular telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks. The brakes include a front and rear disc brake mounted on 14-inch wheels which get block-pattern tyres. Its features list comprises LED illumination, a smart key, an ignition dial, a remote key ignition, and a smart find.
In terms of competition, the Xoom 160 won't have a direct rival, but the Yamaha Aerox 155 consumers will check out the Hero scooter. The official price of this adventure scooter is likely to be between Rs 1.2 to Rs 1.3 lakh.
