Hero MotoCorp may launch their most interesting motorcycle, the Splendor iSmart, in India, on January 29. The company has started dispatching bikes to some of their dealerships but there are also some reports of bikes being delivered to customers. Few of the dealers have already started taking bookings for this bike and are also displaying test bikes in their showrooms. However, we would like to believe it once we get an official press release from the manufacturer.
The Splendor iSmart is expected to demand Rs 2,000 premium over the Splendor Pro motorcycle. This will take the on-road price of the Splendor iSmart to Rs 57,200 (on-road Navi Mumbai). Unveiled last year at Macau, the bike has generated much interest among the bikers due to its i3S technology.
The i3S stands for Start-Stop Sytem which is a green technology that automatically shuts the engine when idling and turns it on when needed, thus giving more fuel efficiency in congested cities. The Gurgaon-based manufacturer is claiming a fuel efficiency of 75 kmpl with its 97.2cc engine.
