Hero MotoCorp had unveiled the XF3R at the 2016 Auto Expo. Though it was more of a design study back then, the company has now patented the motorcycle, hinting that the development of the production version is underway.
The Hero XF3R previewed the company’s design language for its future models. The patent drawing indicates that the model will retain bits like the edgy headlamp, LED position lights, sculpted fuel tank with pseudo air vents and the raised tail section. It even retains the inverted front forks and the fancy alloy wheel design. The XF3R is underpinned by a tubular trellis frame with a die-cast swingarm. Though Hero hasn’t divulged details about the engine capacity, we expect it to displace around 300cc. The XF3R comes kitted with ABS, dual riding modes and fuel-injection.
Last year, Hero set up the Centre of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur with the aim of developing state-of-the-art products for Indian as well as other global markets. There has been a steady roll-out of new independently-developed products, with the new Glamour 125 being the latest motorcycle to join the list. The Glamour 125 will be followed by the Xtreme 200S, which means that it might be late 2018 before we see the XF3R reach production phase.
