Hero MotoCorp is planning to develop a motorcycle that will be priced below Rs 37,000. Currently, the most reasonable motorcycle from the company’s line-up is the HF Dawn that retails at Rs 37,000.
This announcement was made by the company at the unveiling of 15 new products in a press conference meet at Gurgaon last Thursday. The Gurgaon-based manufacturer has however made it clear that the motorcycle won’t be a lot cheaper than the HF Dawn.
This planned motorcycle will primarily serve the rural markets where they mostly look for value for money and with its introduction, it might become their volume gainer motorcycle. Hero MotoCorp will export this motorcycle to similar countries if it works in India.
"We are always working to bring the cost down of our products. We are working on a bike that will be less expensive than our current entry level HF Dawn bike but not drastically cheaper,” said Pawan Munjal, managing director and CEO, Hero MotoCorp.
