Hero MotoCorp has announced a 43 per cent growth in two-wheeler sales in December 2017, as compared to December 2016. The company has also achieved the feat of selling 70 lakh two-wheelers in a calendar year.
While December is generally regarded as a lean month for two-wheeler sales, Hero MotoCorp has beaten the odds and recorded a phenomenal growth. Last month, Hero sold 4.72 lakh two-wheelers against 3.30 lakh units in December 2016. With this, Hero has achieved 72.07 lakh units in sales in 2017, reflecting a 6.5 per cent growth over 2016. As for the first three quarters of the financial year, Hero has registered an 11 per cent growth.
The Hero Splendor is the biggest cash cow for the company, followed by HF Deluxe and the Glamour. Among the scooters, the Maestro Edge is the most popular model. The company will be expanding its range with three new models over the next few weeks.
