Hero MotoCorp announced that they registered a 21 per cent hike in sales for August 2014. The company sold 5,58,609 units of two-wheelers last month, while they had sold 4,59,996 units in the same month last year.
While Hero Motocorp is showing a positive growth since the beginning of this financial year (FY 2014-15), the number of sales has considerably gone up in the last few months. The company showed a 8.67 per cent boost in sales by selling 5,29,862 units in July. In August, the manufacturer also got a decent growth momentum with good sales numbers.
The company says they are confident that this trend of good sales figures will continue with the onset of the festive season. The company has lined up new and refreshed products for launch during this period. All the recent launches like the new Karizma, ZMR, Xtreme, Passion Pro TR and the 2014 Pleasure scooter, have received an overwhelming response from customers. While the Splendor iSmart continues to drive volumes in the market, the Splendor Pro Classic will be available in dealerships across the country in the coming weeks.
Hero has been investing heavily in technology to develop new bikes and increasing its push into overseas markets ever since it split from Japan's Honda Motor Company in 2011. Quite recently, the company set up its wholly-owned subsidiary in Colombia -'HMCL COLOMBIA SAS' and commenced construction of its manufacturing plant in Colombia. With this, Hero MotoCorp has also become the first Indian two-wheeler company to have a manufacturing plant in Latin America.
