Hero MotoCorp has registered a 4 per cent decline in domestic sales for January 2021.
The Delhi-based manufacturer sold 4.67 lakh motorcycles and scooters last month as compared to the 4.88 lakh units it sold in January 2020. However, exports witnessed growth from 13,553 units in January 2020 to 18,113 units in the same period this year. However, in total, Hero registered a 3 per cent decline in year-on-year sales.
Out of the total sales, Hero’s motorcycles contributed to 4.49 lakh units which is a 9 per cent decline from its January 2020 sales number of 4.94 lakh units. On the other hand, its scooters witnessed a major jump from 7,190 units in January 2020 to 36,852 units sold last month.
Moreover, to celebrate the production of the 100 millionth unit, Hero MotoCorp unveiled special edition models of the Xtreme 160R, Passion Pro, Glamour, Destini 125, and Maestro Edge 110 that will go on sale sometime this month.
