Hero MotoCorp has released the sales numbers for July 2020. The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer sold 5,14,509 vehicles in July 2020, thus registering a sequential growth of 14 percent over June 2020. The company, for reference, sold 5,35,810 units in the corresponding month last year.
Domestic sales contributed 5,06,946 units to the overall number while exports stood at 7,563 units in July 2020. In comparison, the company sold 5,11,374 units in the domestic market and exported 24,436 units in July 2019.
The year-to-date performance is lower than the corresponding period last year due to the lockdown throughout the country. The company sold 10,77,777 units between April and July 2020 as against 23,78,730 units during the corresponding months last year.
The company said in the press statement that the volumes have been driven by strong retail sales due to the positive market demand. However, the company further added that the sales are impacted by the micro-lockdowns in several parts of the country.
Hero MotoCorp has made progress in ramping-up the production across all of its eight manufacturing facilities – six in India and two at global locations. More than 95 percent of Hero MotoCorp customer touch-points are currently operational.
