Hero MotoCorp has reported a three per cent spike in overall sales numbers for November, comfortably maintaining its position as the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer. The Delhi-based manufacturer sold 5,47,413 two-wheelers in the last month, as compared to 5,30,530 units it could manage in the same period, last year.
Hero MotoCorp has been riding on the success of its commuter motorcycle range which includes the Splendor, Glamour and the Passion series. The company’s scooter range, comprising of the Pleasure and the Maestro, was updated during the festive season and has also been contributing in the company’s steady growth.
As a part of its plans to achieve 12 lakh units in sales by 2020, Hero MotoCorp has been aggressively expanding its footprint across South America. Hero MotoCorp recently marked its entry into the Colombian market with the launch of six motorcycles, which would be sold through a network of 120 outlets. The company is also planning to enter the European market by next year, with help from its American partner, Eric Buell Racing. This aggressive expansion should help the company cement its position as the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer in face of competition from its former joint venture partner, Honda.
