Hero MotoCorp has restructured its top level management in order to gain back its lost market share in the Indian two-wheeler industry. The company has set up different divisions for the international business and spare parts division. This restructuring was confirmed by Pawan Munjal’s email to his fellow colleagues.
The international division will be led by Deepak Mokashi who previously was the vice president of the sales and service vision. Sanjay Bhan who was earlier the head of marketing is responsible for the spare parts division. Anil Dua, senior vice president, sales & marketing will now focus completely in the domestic market and help the company increases its overall volumes. The Gurgaon based manufacture has also created a new position of head of marketing for international business division. This position will be held by Parag Agarwal, who was earlier responsible for all brand communications for the marketing division.
"I am asking Anil Dua to completely go after this (domestic) market with full vigour...and not only win back the lost market share, but also take it to higher levels," said Pawan Munjal, managing director & CEO, Hero MotoCorp.
We think restructuring the top management is a good move, considering the fact the company is trying to make its presence in international markets and at the same time focusing more on the domestic market. In order to stay focus in its operations, a dedicated person for a particular division will help the company streamline its operational activities.
