Hero MotoCorp has started the new financial year with a bang by recording a 15 per cent growth in sales numbers in April 2016. This is the third consecutive month in which Hero MotoCorp has posted double-digit growth, cementing its position as the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer.
Hero MotoCorp sold 6.12 lakh two-wheelers in the last month as compared to 5.33 lakh units in the corresponding period last year. While the commuter range including the Splendor, Passion, Glamour and the HF Deluxe continues to rule the roost as the company’s top-selling models, the Maestro Edge and Duet have also been performing exceptionally, helping Hero MotoCorp boost its share in the lucrative 110cc scooter segment.
Earlier this year, Hero MotoCorp announced ambitious plans of achieving 1 crore unit sales by 2017-18. The company aims to accomplish this with the help of aggressive expansion in other global markets. If the company’s current growth is any indication of its future performance, then it won’t be long before they hit the magic number.
