- Hero sold 4.98 lakh units in February 2020
- Scooters see major decline of 67.5 per cent
- To launch Xtreme 160R soon
Hero Motocorp sold 4.98 lakh motorcycles and scooters in February 2020, registering a 19.3 per cent decline as compared to last February’s sale of 6.17 lakh two-wheelers.
Individually, motorcycle sales witness a 14.2 per cent drop from 5.58 lakh units in February 2019 to 4.79 lakhs last month. However, scooters saw a major decline in sales numbers for February 2020. Hero managed to sell only 18,932 scooters last month as compared to 58,331 units in the same period in 2019; which is a 67.5 per cent drop.
The manufacturer attributes the slump in sales to the coronavirus which has slowed down production. Nevertheless, Hero launched a slew of BS6 products like the Splendor Plus, Super Splendor, Glamour and Passion Pro. It also launched the BS6 Maestro Edge 125 and Destini 125. Hero also introduced the Rally Kit for the Xpulse and showcased the Xtreme 160R which is to be launched in the country soon.
