Hero MotoCorp has announced a marginal increase in overall sales. With 5,04,181 two-wheelers sold in February, the company shows a 0.58 per cent increase in sales in comparison to the 5,01,271 units it had sold in the same month last year.
Anil Dua, Sr. Vice President, Marketing and Sales, HMCL, said, “We have been consistently selling over five lakh units every month, and this is clearly indicative of the inherent market demand that exists for our products. There has been an excise duty cut in the month of February and we have passed on the benefit to our customers. We are hopeful that this price cut will give a fillip to the industry and further boost demand of our products.”
Hero MotoCorp updated the existing products in their line-up and exhibited them along with some more new products and concepts at the recently concluded Auto Expo. These include the Hero HX250R, Splendor Pro Classic, Splendor iSmart, Passion TR, Xtreme, Karizma and ZMR. From the scooter segment, the 110cc Dash, the 125cc Dare and the 150cc ZIR in two variants were revealed. Concepts like the Hastur, a 150cc diesel scooter dubbed as RNT, Leap and electric motorcycles- SimplEcity and iON were also displayed.
The company believes that they have created considerable excitement amongst prospective buyers with these unveilings and will soon bolster their belief amongst consumers with the launch of new products. They will introduce newer versions of the Pleasure, Xtreme, Karizma and ZMR to the Indian two-wheeler market this month.
We believe that with the introduction of the HX250R at an aggressive price, the company should create a good demand for the motorcycle in the 250cc segment and further achieve good sales as well. Hero MotoCorp recently launched a few products in Turkey. By increasing its presence in more countries outside India, the manufacturer should boost its exports as well.
