Hero MotoCorp has maintained its spot as India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer registering a growth of 11 per cent in May 2018.
The company sold 7, 06,635 units last month over the 6, 33,884 units sold in the same period last year. This is second time in 2018 that Hero has recorded sales of over 7 lakhs with the last month being March with 7,30,473 units being sold. Hero accredits its growth to the Splendor and HF Deluxe; the highest selling motorcycles from its range. On the other hand, the Maestro Edge is Hero’s most popular scooter.
With a stronghold in the commuter motorcycle segment, Hero is looking towards the premium commuter segment with the Xtreme 200R. The manufacturer is expected to launch the bike in the next few weeks priced around Rs 90,000. We can expect the Maestro Edge 125 and Duet 125 to follow soon after. Hero also unveiled the Xpulse at the Auto Expo 2018. The adventuire-touring bike is likely to arrive in the second half of this year.
