Hero MotoCorp sales registered a marginal 0.5 per cent growth in March 2017 as compared to March 2016. With this, Hero continues to be the leader in the Indian two-wheeler industry.
The company found 6.09 lakh buyers in March 2017 as opposed to 6.06 lakh units sold in the corresponding month in the previous year. The flat growth curve in March 2017 was preceded by a 4.8 per cent drop in sales in February and a 14 per cent drop in January. Nevertheless, Hero seems to be on the road to recovery. Last week, the company rolled out a few offers with the intention of clearing old BS III stock. This seems to have contributed in helping the company’s numbers get back in the positive.
A major chunk of Hero’s sales come from the commuter motorcycles. While the rest of the range also enjoys a good demand, the growth has been spearheaded by the Splendor range which recently shot past the Honda Activa as the highest selling two-wheeler model in India. Even Hero’s scooter range has also been garnering a decent market share, helping the company in its recovery process.
