The Society of Indian Automotive Manufacturers’ data has released product-wise numbers for two-wheelers sold in January 2023. The data also includes the sales numbers for Hero MotoCorp’s newest 110cc and aggressively priced scooter, the Xoom. As per the data, Hero MotoCorp sold a total of 1,183 units in January 2023. Do note that this product was launched towards the end of the month. To give you a quick recap, this Honda Dio-rivaling scooter is available in three variants with prices starting from Rs 68,599.
Hero Xoom: Styling and Colours
All three variants of the Hero Xoom feature a sharp design for the panels, a dual-tone apron, a modern shape for the headlight and taillight, and bold colours. The top-spec ZX version further benefits from 3D ‘XOOM’ badges, while the lower variants get a decal on the body panels. Apart from this, the three variants are also distinguished through their respective colour options. The base model is available in a single colour option, while the VX and ZX variants are listed in three and four paint themes, respectively.

Hero Xoom: Features
The modern design is complemented by advanced features. For reference, the standard features across the range comprise an LED headlight with an H-shaped LED DRL, an H-shaped LED taillight, a real-time fuel economy indicator, and a low fuel indicator. The mid- and top-spec variants further benefit from a fully-digital indicator, i3S technology for better fuel economy, a wider rear tyre, a front glove box with a USB charger, and a boot light. The highest version additionally gets Hero Intelligent Cornering Light, Bluetooth connectivity, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and a front disc brake.
Hero Xoom: Suspension and Braking Hardware
The suspension setup across the range comprises telescopic front forks and a single rear spring. The braking setup on the LX and VX variants includes 130mm drum units at both ends, while the ZX version uses a 190mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum setup. The VX and the ZX variants also benefit from a wider rear tyre (100/80) as compared to the unit on the LX version (90/90). At the front, all variants use a 90/90-section tyre.
Hero Xoom: Prices and Rivals
The Honda Dio is a direct threat to the new Hero Xoom while other products in its displacement class include the country’s highest-selling scooter, Activa 6G. The new Hero Xoom is available from Rs 68,599 onwards.
