- Hero retails 4.69 lakh two-wheelers in June 2021
- Witnesses a drastic surge as compared to May
- Splendor Plus continues to be the highest-selling model
The Indian two-wheeler market is evidently coming back on track with the sales rising drastically in June, after the bleak COVID-19-stricken May. The country’s highest-selling two-wheeler brand, Hero MotoCorp, registered substantial growth in its sales last month by dispatching a total of 4,69,160 units in June 2021.
The year-on-year growth was marginal as Hero retailed 4,51,983 units in June last year. However, it was a huge leap as compared to May 2021 when the company dispatched 1,83,044 units only. The slump was due to the strict lockdown in most parts of India. Notably, motorcycle and scooter sales were both high in June 2021 as compared to last year at 4,41,536 units and 27,624 units, respectively. And similar to every month, the Splendor Plus topped the sales chart.
Hero MotoCorp expects the sales to grow even further in the coming months. The company has hopes from improving buying sentiments amongst people in rural areas and a forecast of a normal monsoon in several parts of the country. With a lot of people refraining from using public transport and opting for personal mobility, Hero is highly optimistic with the festive season approaching.
