Hero MotoCorp has released its September sales numbers for domestic sales and exports. Let’s look at how many scooters and bikes it sold last month.
Recording a 12.4 per cent growth over August 2022, Hero MotoCorp sold 5,07,690 motorcycles and scooters in India and exported 12,290 units overseas. From the overall 5,19,980 units, Hero sold 4,80,237 bikes and 39,743 scooters in September 2022. Compared to the September 2021 sales figures, 10,366 less units were sold this time.
Heading in the festive season, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer is set to debut its first electric scooter. The unveiling date is slated for October 7, and the e-scooter’s dubbed Vida. The brand has released a few teasers on its social media handles hinting that the Vida scooter could benefit from a removable battery.
Moreover, Hero has also partnered with Zero, a USA-based electric motorcycle manufacturer. With the latest partnership, the two brands will co-develop an electric motorcycle that we can expect for the Indian market. That said, Hero also has ties with Gogoro and Ather Energy. This makes it evident that the brand is betting big on the EV space.
